Getting bikini ready? Don’t forget your skin!

Avoid the peak UV hours of 10am to 4pm, wear dark-coloured clothes & a cap. Apply your noncomedogenic sunscreen 30 mins beforehand. When you get really hot, the natural oils on your scalp drip down your face & body & mix with your sweat, settling into pores along your hairline, neck & shoulders, causing breakouts. Wear clothes made of material like Lycra & nylon, which won’t trap sweat.

Spring clean your skin!

Now is the perfect time to get rid of all the dead cells that have collected on the skin's surface during the dry winter. These dead cells cause the skin to appear dull & hinder the absorption of important ingredients in your moisturiser. Exfoliate 2-3x per week and use those masks that were forgotten about in winter to give your skin a radiant spring glow!

Dry skin? Cure the “winter itch”!

You can prevent dry skin by using a moisturiser, BUT it can cause problems if you don't wet your face first. Many moisturisers are occlusive: form a layer on your skin that prevents moisture escaping. If there's little moisture in the skin already, you're just trapping in the dryness! Splash some water or toner on your face so the moisturiser will have something to seal in.

Autumn makeup

This autumn, wear bright shades anywhere by following the 20% rule:Swipe makeup on your upper lids & lips (20% of the face) for some colour. This season, iridescent lavender liner is killer on eyes. Create a thick line against top lashes, then top it with a similar shade of shadow for all-day staying power. Finish with volumising mascara & bubblegum pink lip gloss.
