For dark circles

If you use a concealer under your eyes and you find it makes the skin dry and the lines and wrinkles look worse but you need to hide dark circles, add a drop of your eye serum or eye cream as this will add the hydration benefits but will still give you the coverage you need.

Dark circles often mean low iron or low hydration. Iron tablets can be taken of course, but it’s always preferably to get nutrients from your diet. Top tip on iron intake: combine your iron-rich food (my favourite is lentils or black beans) with something that is high in vitamin C (tomatoes are great, even pineapples!). This helps our body absorb iron. The other thing is is to try and avoid calcium supplements within an hour of eating iron-rich foods. Calcium actually inhibits the absorption of iron!

Drink enough water for your body, daily. Don’t give your kidneys any extra hassle – you’ll need them later on in life 😉 How I remember to drink enough water is to start the day with a cup of non-caffeinated tea or a large glass of water (or both) and then every time I wash my hands after taking a trip to the loo, I drink another glass. By the end of the day I have had my 8 glasses+ of water (remember to add on more if you work out or if you are in a physically intensive job) and it hasn’t been a matter of gulping down a litre at 3pm to “catch up” (yes, I know this feeling all too well…) You can also eat your water by having a lot of fruit and vegetables!

Get enough sleep. Trust me, getting that “extra work” done at your body’s expense does not pay off in the long term.
