During the winter months (and while we transition from autumn to winter and winter to spring) our skin becomes more dry and dehydrated. Here is some advice to help you avoid “winter skin” (aka dullness…)
Firstly, switch your day and night creams to something slightly richer. This will compensate for the dry, harsh winter conditions (which often leave your skin looking dull and feeling itchy and rough!)
Secondly, exfoliate 2-3x a week so that your dead skin cells don’t collect on your skin’s surface. Regular, gentle exfoliation will improve the absorption of your serums and day cream.
Lastly, a nourishing mask high in oils is always best!
For diet tips: Take a high quality flaxseed or salmon oil supplement OR even better, eat flaxseeds and/or salmon. Other healthy fats which your skin will thank you for are nuts, seeds and avocados.
